The Mongolian Charity Rally was first set up in 2008 to add an increased Charity aspect to the increasingly popular Mongol Rally. The drive is the same, 10,000 miles, a third of the way round the world to Ulaan Baatar. But it has to be done in a vehicle which will not only make it, but can be sold by GoHelp Charity in Mongolia to raise more funds for Save the Children. Before we leave we are also required to raise £1000 for Save the Children, (please help us doing this by donating directly).

To add an extra element to our trip, we’ve been in contact with some local Mongolian schools and are taking out sports equipment (primarily basketballs, footballs and volleyballs - the most popular Mongolian sports) and kit as well as books for the local communities and schools in and around Ulaan Baatar. This way we hope to help some children and communities beyond the limits of Save the Children. Nevertheless, although the charity aspect has increased, the adventure aspect isn’t any less. The car’s more likely to make it, but we still cover some of the most desolate and remote places on earth, totally without support and without assistance. In addition, once we donate the van, we then have to find our own way home...
